As a passionate advocate for the empowerment of youth, women, and those from culturally diverse backgrounds, Yassmin Abdel-Magied has achieved many of her goals, including being awarded the 2015 Queensland Young Australian of the Year. At age 16, Yassmin founded Youth Without Borders, an organisation that empowers young people to achieve their goals through community-based programs. Yassmin has advised federal governments and international bodies and was named one of Australia's most influential engineers.

In 2016, Yassmin brought her story to life with her coming-of-age memoir, 'Yassmin's Story'.​​ She has gained international acclaim as a speaker on leadership, inclusion, and change management, having delivered keynote speeches in 25 countries[ET1] .

Yassmin’s work spans print, stage and screen, with commentary featured in TIME, Guardian, The New York Times and more. Her TED Talk, What does my headscarf mean to you?, has been viewed over 2.5 million times. Through storytelling, advocacy and leadership, Yassmin continues to inspire a more inclusive and equitable world.
