Since graduating from John Paul College in 1993, Matthew Baxby has built a distinguished career in financial services, combining entrepreneurial drive with strategic leadership. After nearly a decade with the Virgin Group, including three years as Managing Director of Virgin Money Australia, he joined Bank of Queensland in 2012, serving as Group Executive for Retail Banking and later as Chief Financial Officer. In 2020, Matthew became Chief Executive Officer of Revolut Australia & New Zealand, leading the fintech’s market entry and rapid growth across the region. He also served as Interim Global Banking CEO, supporting expansion across seven major regulated markets (US, UK, Western & Eastern Europe, Japan, Singapore and Australia).

Currently, he leads Revolut’s APAC operations and is one of 14 global partners shaping the company’s future. With over 400 million customers worldwide, Revolut is transforming digital banking.

Matthew holds a Master of Applied Finance and is a Chartered Banker, passionate about lifting standards and restoring trust in the financial services profession.
