Dr Scott Fanning is a highly respected Interventional Gastroenterologist based in Launceston, Tasmania. Since opening his own practice, he has earned numerous accolades for his contributions to the field of gastroenterology. A graduate of the University of Queensland with First-Class Honours in Medicine and Surgery, he was awarded the prestigious University Medal for Outstanding Academic Achievement. His training included fellowships in clinical endoscopy at Concord Hospital and Westmead Hospital, where he developed expertise in complex procedures such as endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) and endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR). Internationally recognised by organisations including the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA), Scott has played a leadership role in public health. Since 2018, he has served as Director of Gastroenterology and Endoscopy Services at the Launceston General Hospital, where he continues to drive excellence in patient care and procedural advancement.
