Drawn to water, Mitch Larkin’s love of swimming was fostered as a child and developed into a highly successful competitive career with multiple world records and Olympic titles under his belt.
In addition to his swimming career, Mitch pursued a Bachelor of Business and Economics with a major in Property Development at the Queensland University of Technology. He believes that patience and persistence are key to success and that the challenges he faces in swimming become addictive and powerful as he strives to achieve more.
Standout achievements for Mitch include two World Championships in 2015 as a world record holder, a silver and bronze medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics and winning five gold medals at the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games. Most recently in the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, Mitch has won a gold medal in 4x100m Medley Relay and a silver medal in the 4x100m Medley Relay.
Mitch has announced his retirement from professional swimming in 2024. As a dedicated and accomplished athlete, Mitch has brought honour and inspiration to the JPC community through his unwavering commitment, impressive achievements and sportsmanship. We celebrate his remarkable career and look forward to seeing the continued impact he will make in his future endeavours.
