Kerrie Sadiq is a woman of her word. When Kerrie promised her daughter that she would bring home a photo of herself with then-serving Prime Minister, Julia Gillard for her show and tell, she didn’t disappoint.

After graduating from JPC in 1985, she undertook a dual Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Laws at the University of Queensland (UQ) and was admitted as a Barrister to the Supreme Court of Australia in 1992. Kerrie’s passion for teaching and research led to a 20-year academic career at UQ, followed by joining QUT’s Business School as a Professor of Taxation in 2012.

Kerrie’s work focuses on international tax avoidance and its economic ramifications, advocating for a fairer system that taxes economic activity and ensures that countries can collect tax revenue from multinationals operating within their jurisdiction. She is a widely published author in both Australian and international journals and is a co-author of taxation textbooks. She is a Senior Tax Adviser to the Tax Justice Network (UK) and co-editor of the Australian Tax Review. Kerrie is passionate about mentoring junior staff and supervises PhD candidates annually.
