During Term 2, the College hosted its biennial Indigenous Round against friendly rivals Ormiston College. Our Firsts games commenced with a series of Acknowledgement events, including a smoking ceremony and Acknowledgement of Country. The College was excited to have Alumnus and Walk of Fame 2023 Inductee, Mr Cory Reeve (Class of 2000) of the Waddi Group attend of our Indigenous Round as a sponsor. Cory and Principal Mr Merritt presented the First XV Rugby team with their Indigenous jerseys. As a result of the sale of the Indigenous Rugby Jerseys, we provided the Yalari Ready Program with a $1,000 donation at Friday’s Reconciliation Assembly. We also congratulate the First XV team for winning the Principal's Cup, which has sat with Ormiston College for the last eight years.
His sponsorship empowered our Rugby teams to strive for greatness both on and off the field. We thank Cory for being an integral part of our Indigenous Round and for joining the celebrations at TAS Sports Dinner. As a token of our appreciation, we presented Cory with the First XV Indigenous Jersey on behalf of the College. It is always wonderful to welcome our Alumni back on campus and continue fostering the long-lasting connections that JPC has with it’s Alumni network.
