Alumni News

In March, we were delighted to have Alumnus Francesca De Valence (Class of 1997) host a Song Writing Workshop in collaboration with our Performing Arts Team. Our students arrived at the workshop having already tried their hand at writing some lyrics for a verse and chorus of their own. The workshop focused on helping students develop their own chords and accompaniment for their existing lyrics by demonstrating the processes used by other successful musicians.

Students broke off to individual workstations to develop their compositions on keyboards and guitars before coming together in small groups to share their work. We’re looking forward to creating more experiences for our students to develop their skills in composition here at JPC.
